SINGAPORE, Oct 26 (Reuters) – BP plans to ship 1 million barrels of U.S. crude to Thailand and Australia for the first time, three trade sources said on Wednesday, as the company steps up American oil exports to meet demand in the Asia-Pacific region.Traders are keen to ship more U.S. oil to Asia, but falling shale oil output and a narrow price spread between West Texas Intermediate (WTI) and Brent have kept the arbitrage window closed for most of this year.The company has sold 300,000 barrels of crude to Thailand's PTT PCL and the remaining 700,000 barrels will head to Australia to be processed at BP's refinery, they said.Thailand and Australia have not imported U.S. crude before, data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) showed. SQUAMISH, British Columbia -- Woodfibre LNG Limited, the privately held Canadian company behind the Woodfibre LNG project, has awarded two Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) contracts for the proposed project'>project, located in the District of Squamish near Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.The FEED contracts for the 2.1 mtpa liquefaction and export facility were awarded to two groups: KBR and JGC America. These two groups will conduct the FEED in parallel and will produce lump-sum turn-key proposals for an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract.The decision on which group will be awarded the EPC contract will be based on their EPC proposals that will be submitted at the end of the parallel FEEDs.

PORT OF SPAIN -- BP Trinidad and Tobago (bpTT) announced Wednesday that the Joe Douglas 240C jackup, which is owned and operated by Rowan Companies, has joined the bpTT rig fleet and has begun drilling at the bpTT Amherstia facility.The rig previously worked for another operator in Trinidad and was moored in Chaguaramas for approximately 45 days where it underwent maintenance. After completion of the maintenance work, the rig was moved to the offshore location alongside the Amherstia platform, off the southeast coast of Trinidad, where it commenced drilling operations in October.This is the first time a jackup rig will work alongside the Amherstia facility, and it will drill three new wells, with the potential for a fourth. The expected gas output from these three wells is approximately 235 MMscfd.

STAVANGER, Norway -- Statoil has decided to cancel its contract for the Stena Don semisubmersible, the Norwegian operator said Tuesday. The rig has been on contract to Statoil since Feb. 7, 2014, performing operations for the Troll and Fram licenses.
This contract was originally due to end on Feb. 7, 2017. However, the cancellation will now take place in early November after the rig completes plugging activity on Troll field. Upon completion of the Troll work, the rig was originally committed to the Fram license. However, the license does not have any work for the rig, nor does Statoil have any other activities where it can be used.

MOSCOW -- Lukoil has started commercial production at Pyakyakhinskoye oil and gas condensate field in the Yamal-Nenets Autononous District, the company said Tuesday. According to a statement announcing the milestone, 107 wells—including 72 oil wells and 31 gas wells—have been drilled in the field. Of the oil wells, 36 are currently producing, with an overall daily flowrate exceeding 3,000 tons (20,000 bbl). Gas production is expected begin in the latter part of 2016.
The field is expected to produce 1.5 million tons of crude oil and gas condensate and 3 Bcm of natural gas in 2017, Lukoil said.

MUSCAT, Oman -- The first phase of BP Oman’s Khazzan natural gas project is 80% complete and on track to deliver first gas near the end of 2017, the company said in a statement.Situated on a previously undeveloped desert site 350 km south of Muscat, work on the Khazzan tight gas project began in 2014, and the completed development will eventually contribute roughly a third of Oman’s natural gas supply.The Khazzan drilling program is also on track with 38 of the 50 wells needed by first gas already drilled.
