he ReAct Equalising Valve is an electronically actuated valve that allows plugged wells to be equalised or brought onto production without the need for intervention.
The ReAct Equalising Valve has successfully delivered a zero bubble, gas tight seal using the rigorous requirements set down by the ISO standard ISO 14310.
The field-proven ReAct onboard electronics do not need to be connected to surface as the valve is functioned with a ‘Command’ remote activation signal. The valve is programmed to recognise a unique ReAct Command pressure signature before activating and equalisation.
A laptop computer allows the ‘pressure pattern’ to be easily programmed at the wellsite as needed. The valve can be installed below any lock or plug and can be used as a shallow or deep set barrier.
The ReAct Equalising Valve builds on Omega’s field proven electronics platform currently available in products such as the Clean Out Valve, Tracer Deployment Valve, Self-Opening Sandface Valve and Command Activated Sandface Valve.
The ReAct Equalising Valve is ideal for use in high differential pressure applications. It is also ideal in subsea or other applications where remote and interventionless production start up is desired.

Benefits
Reduces intervention costs.
Reduces rig costs.
Reduces safety hazard to intervention crews.
Controlled equalisation by the need for a specific pressure signal.
No risk during under balance equalisation.
Case study
A North Sea Oil Operator saves over £1.3 million during a Well Abandonment by using Omega’s patented ReAct Technology.
The ReAct Equalising Valve was developed on an Omega 5.50” V-Zero Retrievable Bridge Plug which was set and activated 136 days thereafter allowing safe remote equalizing.
Both products performed flawlessly making a valuable and cost saving contribution to the overall successful of the intervention.
Background and objectives
Install a 5-1/2” Gemini Retrievable Bridge Plug c/w ReAct Equalising Valve.
Well suspension allowing BOP changeout.
Remote equalization of ReAct Equalising Valve.
Value to client
Contributed to a saving of 16days rig time & £1.3M direct saving in operational costs.
Time to equalize greatly reduced as no requirements to rig up Slickline.
Operation carried out safely and successfully.
136 days in well.
About Omega Completion
Omega Completion was established in 1998 in Aberdeen UK. Omega Completion was a completion and intervention manufacturer and supplier.
