Case study
Challenge
Our Far East client’s business model was to perforate and produce key zones of a well first then produce the rest over time.
Prior to using Meta’s technology, our client, like most operators across the globe, did not have the freedom to produce its wells in the optimum way.
Previous technology allowed the client to produce the key zone, but following water in-gress and subsequent zonal isolation, the technology’s ID restricting nature would not al-low lower zones to be produced. Or it would limit any re-perforation and / or well inter-vention.

This method did not capitalise on the production of the well and therefore did not maxim-ise profitability.
The client wanted a clad solution, which would give them the freedom to produce key are-as first, and then have the ability to perforate or carry out further well interventions in the lower formations in the well, without restricting their options. Also due to rig constraints it was essential that this be deployed via wireline.
Solution
The Meta Internal Clad, with its clad through clad capability, is a system that can be de-ployed on wireline and allow operators to set a clad below a previously installed Meta In-ternal Clad with no ID restrictions.
Demonstrating the Internal Clad’s unique clad through clad capability and minimal re-striction in ID, Meta then ran a further clad through the existing clad allowing production from zones lower in the well. Future well production is not comprised.
Results
Meta successfully ran and set a clad in the well and isolated perforations at a depth of 3250m and a temperature 120°, bringing gas production back to full capacity – an increase from 0.3 MMSCF to 2.0 MMSCF/
