The year-on-year growth over the past two months was lower than the increase of 7.3% seen for the same period in 2018. In the upstream segment, NBS data showed domestic crude oil production edging up by 0.5% year on year to 30.69 million mt, or an average of 3.81 million b/d, over January-February. Natural gas output over January and February was around 28.7 Bcm, up 9.2% year on year, according to the NBS data. The year-on-year growth for natural gas output over the past two months was higher than the increase of 4.9% seen for the same period of 2018, historical data from NBS showed. China has been ramping up its natural gas production in a bid to meet increasing domestic demand.
