Kazakhstan’s output rose last year despite its involvement in the OPEC/non-OPEC production deal, primarily on the back of rising production at its major Kashagan field. The figures show a 6.2% year on year increase in crude output to 77.5 million mt, or around 1.56 million b/d, in 2018. Gas condensate output fell by 3.1% to 12.863 million mt, according to the data. Kazakhstan continues to be a participant in the OPEC/non-OPEC production agreement, and has pledged to cut 40,000 b/d from a baseline of November 2018 levels of 1.9 million b/d from January 2019. The state statistics release Tuesday also showed that Kazakhstan’s crude and condensate output in December was 7.98 million mt, or around 1.88 million b/d. The daily average was slightly lower month on month, but up 4.1% on December 2017.
