Oil Prices Ease After Eight-Day Rally Oil prices settled higher on Thursday, notching their longest winning streak in nine years as fears of oversupply amid weaker demand abated. Light, sweet crude rose 0.4% to $52.59 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, reversing losses to close at a four-week high. The nine consecutive days of gains marked the longest streak since January 2010. Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, closed up 0.4% at $61.68 a barrel on London’s Intercontinental Exchange, its longest winning streak since September 2007.
