IOC’s aviation turbine fuel prices for domestic flights will revise to Rupee 68,050.97/kiloliter ($971.64/kl) for Delhi, Rupee 73,393.55/kiloliter for Kolkata, Rupee 67,979.58/kiloliter for Mumbai and Rupee 69,216.61/kiloliter for Chennai. For the Delhi airport, the newly revised prices in aviation turbine fuel or ATF marked a new 7-month low, IOC data showed. The ATF prices for domestic flights for Delhi were last lower at Rupee 65,340/kiloliter in May. The cuts in ATF prices were in line with the recent fall in global oil prices and the downward trend in benchmark Mean of Platts Singapore jet fuel/kerosene assessments. The FOB Singapore jet/kerosene price tumbled 12.8% to an average of $82.94/b in November from $95.14/b in October, S&P Global Platts data showed. Fuel procured from domestic refiners is priced at international rates, but the actual cost to airlines is more because of the sales tax. According to data from the International Air Transport Association, jet fuel costs comprise 34% of Indian carriers’ operating costs — far higher than the global average of 24%. In India, jet fuel is supplied at local airports by IOC, HPCL and BPCL, which revise their ATF prices for both international and domestic flights at the start of each month.
