Oil Prices Could Stay Where They Are Into 2019 Oil prices could tread water into 2019 as traders continue to fret about rising supply, says Cantor Fitzgerald. Ahead of U.S.-Sino talks at the G20 this week and the OPEC meeting on Dec. 6, it looks like the market has already decided that the mooted 1.4 million barrels of oil per day cut to output isn’t enough to offset a decline in demand growth projections, the brokerage says. “So if that is the number, then the current level could remain into the new year,” says Cantor’s Jack Allardyce.
