Anadarko, BHP Billiton begin post-Michael restart of Gulf of Mexico operations Anadarko Petroleum and BHP Billiton were restarting operations in the Gulf of Mexico Friday, following the passage of Hurricane Michael through the region earlier this week, the companies said. Anadarko has returned crews and staff to three previously evacuated operated platforms in the eastern Gulf of Mexico, the company said Friday. “Production will be restarted as third-party infrastructure allows,” the company said in a statement on its website. Anadarko had initially evacuated the Horn Mountain and Marlin platforms, and later its Marco Polo platform. Also, late Thursday, BHP Billiton’s Shenzi platform started producing and is in the process of ramping up to full rates, company spokeswoman Judy Dane said.
