Woodside said it would work closely with Bechtel in preparation for award of the contract for the front-end engineering and design phase of the Pluto project. The proposal is for a brownfield expansion of the Pluto LNG facility, including construction of a second LNG train with a targeted capacity of 4-5 million tonnes/year and the development of the 7.3 tcf of offshore Scarborough field’s gas resource. Woodside is aiming to begin FEED during third-quarter 2019 with a final investment decision scheduled for 2020. On that timetable, Train 2 is targeted to be brought on stream in 2024.
