In the second phase of the plan, the resource estimate for the entire Johan Sverdrup field is raised from 2.1 billion-3.1 billion barrels of oil equivalent to 2.2 billion-3.2 billion barrels. The investment cost estimate for phase two has been reduced to 41 billion Norwegian kroner ($4.9 billion) from NOK45 billion. Phase two will increase the fields production capacity to 660,000 barrels per day with production start planned for the fourth quarter of 2022. Equinor said that phase one of the field development is now 80% complete, and remains on track for production start in November 2019. The investment cost estimate for phase 1 has been reduced from NOK88 billion to NOK86 billion.
