For the three months ended March, Petronas posted a net profit of 11.40 billion ringgit ($2.86 billion), up from MYR8.21 billion a year ago, the company said. Revenue for the first quarter rose to MYR57.92 billion from MYR56.52 billion a year earlier, mainly because of higher prices realized across all products, it said. The state-owned oil and gas group said it will continue to improve productivity and growth in the wake of the oil-price recovery, adding that it expects the overall performance for the year to be ‘satisfactory.’
