The field, which is located approximately 93 miles west from Soyo, will add 25,000 barrels to current production levels, according to Eni. Production start-up at Ochigufu was achieved one and a half years after the presentation of the plan of development. The project marks the first start-up for Eni and Angola in 2018. Commenting on the milestone, Eni said the commencement of production from the field represents a further step in the development of the prolific Block 15/06. Eni has been present in Angola since 1980 through its subsidiary Eni Angola. The company’s equity production amounts to 150,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
