The analysts calculated total product demand growth for July at 3 million barrels a day. “Given the staggering demand growth and meagre increase in crude intake, it comes as no surprise that quite strong product draws were observed,” they wrote in a note Wednesday. However, while the European diesel market remains stable, cracks in the Asian diesel market have resulted in a “wider east-west spread.” As a result of that “rare arbitrage,” China is planning to ship diesel to Europe, the analysts said.
