The agency says it expects US output to average 9.9M barrels a day in 2018, which would mark the highest annual average production in US history and surpass the previous record of 9.6M b/d set in 1970. US output averaged an estimated 8.9M b/d in 2016 and is forecast to average 9.3M b/d in 2017, EIA says.
