The American Petroleum Institute’s separate estimate of US crude stockpiles showed a dive of 10.2 million bbl for the week ended July 21. API also reported a 1.9 million-bbl increase in gasoline inventories and 111,000-bbl decrease in distillate inventories. US crude refinery inputs averaged 17.3 million b/d, up 166,000 b/d from the previous week’s average. Refineries operated at 94.3% of their operable capacity. Both gasoline production and distillate fuel production increased to 10.4 million b/d and 5.1 million b/d, respectively. US crude imports averaged 8 million b/d, up 48,000 b/d from the previous week’s average. Over the last 4 weeks, crude imports averaged 7.8 million b/d, down 4.2% from the same 4-week period last year.
