声明说，双方在会见中就两国能源领域合作的现状和前景交换了意见。双方还讨论了两国公司在南非的油气勘探和生产项目中的合作、在核能源领域的合作以发电设施的建设和现代化。
根据美国能源信息署，南非海上估计拥有9万亿立方英尺的可采天然气储量。去年，南非平均每天生产了13.6万桶石油。

Russia, South Africa Discuss Cooperation in Hydrocarbons Production

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak has discussed with his South African counterpart Mmamoloko Kubayi the cooperation of companies in the production of hydrocarbon raw materials in this republic, according to the ministry.
“The two sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector. They discussed the cooperation of the companies from the two countries in hydrocarbon exploration and production projects in South Africa, cooperation in the nuclear energy sphere, construction and modernization of power generation facilities in South Africa,” the ministry said Monday.
According to US Energy Information Administration (EIA), South Africa’s estimated recoverable offshore gas reserves stand at 9 trillion cubic feet (tcf). According to EIA, the country produced an average of 136,000 barrels of oil per day in 2016.
