Oil Market Rebalancing Still Not in Sight, Says ING
A rebalancing of the oil market is still nowhere in sight, say analysts at ING Bank. Growing U.S. gasoline inventories, along with increasing Libyan and Nigerian output is not helping sentiment, the bank says. OPEC’s oil production increased by 336,000 barrels a day in May to 32.14 million barrels a day, led by gains in Libya and Nigeria. Output is likely to increase further in June, with Shell removing the force majeure on Forcados crude shipments from Nigeria in early June, which is likely to add almost 250,000 barrels a day of supply. Similarly Libya is targeting 900,000 barrels a day for the current month, and around 1 million by July after the reopening of some oil fields, ING says.
