Vietnam is now facing huge production shortage for bothfuel and petrochemicals productions.
NghiSon Refinery & Petrochemical Complex is designed to be inoperation by the end of 2017, on the other hand, BSR’s Dung Quat Refinery upgrading and expansion projects is expected to complete by 2021. Even after these two projects are in operation,Vietnam will still have a fuel shortage of 33%-42% in 2022-2025.
The planning Long Son Petrochemical Complex, expected to complete by 2021, is a critical projectthat would increase Vietnam’s petrochemical capacity such as PP, HDPE andLLDPE. Project stakeholders would like to revise the DFS and resubmit to governmentto get the approval.
There are quite some challenges ahead for Vietnam such as feedstock shortage, securing project investment, and utilizing proper technology to process low quality feedstock.
Continued with the success of 2015 and 2016 events, Connecforce’s 3rd International Downstream-Tech will again bring the global and Vietnam’s industry stakeholders from refinery and petrochemical operators, government regulatory bodies, finance and investment and technology suppliers to be engaged in the robust and helpful discussion,debate and business network for a two-day duration.
