PetroChina will build the southwestern strategic and big gas area to make clean energy in Sichuan and Chongqing more security

On February 4th, learning from PetroChina Southwest Oil and Gas Field Company that the company’s annual gas production target in 2020 is 30 billion cubic meters with an increase of 90% than the highest record during the 12th Five-Year Plan. Then it will become a strategic and big gas area in China to make clean energy in Sichuan and Chongqing more secure.

At present the gas purification plant and other productivity construction projects have been completed in Longwangmiao formation gas reservoir of the Moxi area, with daily gas production of 25 million cubic meters. Deng 4 gas reservoir in the Gaoshiti area next to the Moxi area obtains the proved reserves of more than 200 billion cubic meters, which is currently in the producing test evaluation. Till 2020, the annual output of gas in the Gaoshiti – Moxi will reach 13 billion cubic meters. During the 12th Five-Year Plan, PetroChina Southwest Oil and Gas Field Company will build up Changning – Weiyuan national shale gas demonstration area, with an annual capacity of 2 billion cubic meters. In the next five years they will further increase the efforts on the exploration and development of shale gas. In 2020 it will be capable of producing 6 billion cubic meters of gas. Luojiazhai gas field in the northeastern Sichuan opened wells to produce gas last year, and its annual capacity is 3 billion cubic meters. During the 13th Five-Year Plan, Tieshanpo and other gas fields will be developed. In 2020, the gas production of high-sulfur gas fields in the northeastern Sichuan can reach 5 billion cubic meters.
