“Mianyang made” high-precision nuclear logging breaks the monopoly of foreign technology

On March 9th, China (Mianyang) Industrial Technology Research Institute of Science and Technology City holds a products and achievements introduction. One high-precision nuclear logging product developed and produced by Mianyang science and technology enterprises, controllable neutron generator is officially unveiled. The successful development of the product will replace the traditional chemical source logging mode and make the measurement of the underground geological structure and oil reserves more accurate.

Nuclear logging refers to applying nuclear technology to the well measurement, according to the nuclear physical properties of the rock and its pore fluid, and studying underground geological cross-section and exploring the oil, gas and other minerals. Product developers, general manager of Sichuan Jingwei Lingyi Science and Technology Company Limited Zhang Xiaolong says, as a civil-military integrated science and technology enterprise, the technology is the military-oriented converting to civilian project, and a kind of safe and controllable neutron generators based on the nuclear technology made by Jingeri Lingyi and Chinese Academy of Engineering Physics together, which breaks the foreign technology monopoly of ocean high temperature well prospecting. Currently, the technology has matured and applied in part oilfields of the CNOOC.
