Libya Facing Oil Export Disruption
Libya faces disruption in oil exports, which could create shortages in Asian and European markets, say analysts at ING Bank. Libya stopped oil exports from its largest Es Sider port and third-largest Ras Lanuf port on Sunday due to clashes between militia and security forces. Oil production has also dropped from 700,000 barrels a day to 650,000 barrels a day and is likely to drop further if conditions don’t improve, ING says. The disruption to North African supplies could create shortages in Asian and European oil markets, the bank adds.
