Innovative technologies help recover bypassed reserves from refractured wells
AccessFrac Stimulation Service– Improves fracture treatments by combining chemical diversion technology, process controls, and pumping capabilities to help achieve better long-term production.
This service can help retard the slope of the well’s decline curve and improve EUR. This interventionless solution is designed to deliver more predictable and repeatable refrac results at the lowest cost.
Pressure Sink Mitigation (PSM)–A process that bridges off pressure-depleted areas to help mitigate proppant from flowing into those pressure sink areas. This enables the proppant to flow where it is supposed to, thus eliminating waste and improving the probability that complete lateral coverage will be attained.
FracInsight Analysis–An unbiased, repeatable interpretation workflow that leverages the best available vertical well log data to develop a calibrated horizontal log in order to select perforation clusters and frac stage locations. This service helps optimize stage and cluster placement in the best fracability and productivity index area, which can lead to improved connectivity, enhanced fracture coverage, and greater EUR.
Integrated Sensor Diagnostics (ISD)– Pinnacle’s customized sensor and engineering workflow for refracs enables evaluation of refrac efficacy on the pilot pad. The learnings from the pilot are utilized to optimize future refrac wells in the same acreage. The workflow integrates reservoir monitoring learnings across multiple phases, including pre-refrac well condition, real-time simulation coverage of the lateral and fracture growth analysis, and post-refrac cluster efficiency and lateral coverage analysis.
SPECTRUMSM Intervention Services
Coiled tubing with fiber optics turns the wellbore into a live distributed temperature and acoustic sensor. This technology enables a pre-refrac baseline log, real-time well bashing monitoring, post-refrac cluster efficiency to evaluate lateral coverage, and a lateral contribution log during production.
Microseismic / Microdeformation Monitoring
As part of the ISD service, far-field monitoring technologies such as microseismic and surface microdeformation are used to evaluate fracture growth and complexity, fluid placement in the reservoir, and the stimulated reservoir volume created by the refracturing treatment. More than 38,000 fracture stages in North America have been monitored with microseismic and microdeformation technologies.
Build a balanced portfolio to reduce breakeven point of entire asset and increase reserves
With ACTIVATE service, Halliburton can help operators build a balanced portfolio with production distributed strategically across new wells, infills, and refracs. By integrating refracs with new wells and infills, operators have the potential to achieve their desired production target at a higher rate of return and lo Wwer CAPEX, thus driving down the cost per BOE breakeven point of their asset. Below, as an illustration, the balanced portfolio on the right, compared to the new-drill portfolio on the left, has a higher rate of return and requires lower CAPEX to meet the same production targets.
With a balanced portfolio, operators can also increase their bookable reserves f refracs. Booking these incremental reserves improves the enterprise value of the asset, thus increasing an operator’s ability to get lower-cost loans. As a result, the operator can reduce the average cost of capital for the entire asset.
We’re helping to reduce the unpredictability that has surrounded refracturing projects in the past. Our ACTIVATE service is literally creating a paradigm shift on unconventional resource field development by helping increase recovery while drilling fewer wells.
