As part of the 42-month, lump-sum contract, Petrofac will deliver EPC as well as commissioning, startup, and performance testing services, the service provider said on Mar. 13. Petrofac valued the EPC contract at $1 billion. Located around 1,100 km southeast of Algiers, Ain Tsila field will produce gas, LPG, and condensate for the local Algerian market and for export. Groupement Isarene previously awarded a contract to McDermott International Inc. (formerly CB&I) to provide front-end engineering and design services for the development, which was to include a grassroots 420-MMcfd gas plant with water separation, condensate and LPG-recovery equipment, gas compression, export pumps, and metering installations, plus three associated pipelines and well collection (OGJ Online, Sept. 25, 2014). Groupment Isarene declared the field commercial in 2012, estimating it to hold a gross resource of 2.1 tcf of sales gas, 67 million bbl of condensate, and 108 million bbl of LPG (OGJ Online, May 24, 2016; Aug. 14, 2012).
