AGIG links Pluto LNG to regional pipeline The Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) has commissioned the Pluto inlet station thereby connecting the Pluto LNG project to the Dampier to Bunbury natural gas pipeline (DBNGP). The successful commissioning allows additional gas supply to reach Western Australian consumers, the Australian infrastructure company said in its statement. Woodside which operates the Pluto LNG plant near Karratha engaged AGIG to undertake a front end engineering design (FEED) study to convert an existing outlet meter station to an inlet facility, along with the required compression. The completed inlet facility now has the capacity to supply up to 25 terajoules per day via the DBNGP to WA consumers of natural gas. Woodside has also awarded a contract to Bechtel to undertake front-end engineering design (FEED) for the second liquefaction train at the Pluto LNG facility. The would see the addition of the second LNG train at the Pluto site with a targeted capacity of 5 Mtpa and installation of domestic gas infrastructure. Woodside is targeting FID for the Pluto train 2 project in 2020 and ready for start-up in 2024.
