OPEC+ Deal ‘Sufficient’ to Balance Oil Market The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its production allies, led by Russia, agreed Friday after a series of hard-fought negotiations to cut collective crude output by 1.2 million barrels a day starting in January. The deal is “likely sufficient to balance the market in 1H19 and prevent inventories from building,” analysts at Morgan Stanley write in a note Monday. The analysts expect the agreement to support a partial recovery in oil prices, which had fallen more than 30% over the past two months. “After the steep decline in recent weeks, we expect that prices can continue to rally-however upside is limited,” the analysts write.
