Lower Oil Prices to Hit US Producers’ Ebitda: CreditSights CreditSights’ earnings projections for high-yield oil and gas U.S. producers have fallen by 24% after readjusting its price deck for West Texas Intermediate, an oil price benchmark, to $50 a barrel from previous forecasts based on price deck at $65/bbl. Amid crashing oil prices due to oversupply fears, CreditSights is forecasting a 24% drop in Continental’s 2019 Ebitda to $3.4 billion. Chesapeake’s Ebitda would be hit by a 17% drop to $2.5 billion, while Murphy Oil’s Ebitda would fall 27% to $1 billion. Overall, the research firm expects “a mix of capital expenditure cuts, divestures and incremental borrowings next year across the sector with further clarity from management teams to come early in the next year.”
