In a statement issued Tuesday afternoon the company said it would have to restrict supply of some products at the Oberhausen site “until further notice,” attributing the incident to raw material supply disruption. Production of synthesis gas by site partner Air Liquide was disrupted on Sunday night, according to the statement, and the affected plant was shut down automatically. The company could not immediately provide details on the duration of the force majeure and Air Liquide was not immediately available for comment. Oxea said it has contacted customers and will keep them informed of further developments and the ability to deliver. Butac is a solvent typically used for production of paints and lacquers as well as adhesives and hardened coatings. It also has applications in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
