In at statement issued Thursday, the minister said the blocks are located in both shallow and deep waters in a 17,000-square-kilometer area. Gabon is revising its oil-and-gas codes to attract more investors and the renewed code is set be published by December. “Gabon plans to abolish taxes imposed on companies in the revised hydrocarbons law and will also end the 35% levy imposed on oil-and-gas companies,” Mr. Ambouroue said. Mr. Ambouroue said oil taxes will be cut from 13% to 7%, while gas taxes will drop from 5% to 2%.
