三井化学新闻发言人表示：“我们正寻求扩大日本国内或海外市场的Lucant品牌的聚合物润滑油添加剂产能。”
三井化学最初开发lucant聚合物润滑油添加剂是用于汽车润滑油市场，这是一种透明的粘稠液体。三井化学在在山口县岩国大竹的工厂拥有约1.8万吨/年的lucant品牌聚合物润滑油添加剂生产能力。

The company declined to provide further details. The Tokyo-based company originally developed Lucant, a transparent and viscous liquid, for the automotive lubricant market. Mitsui has capacity to produce around 18,000 metric tons per year of Lucant products at its Iwakuni-Ohtake Works facility in Yamaguchi Prefecture. In 2014, United States-based lubricant additive heavyweight Lubrizol agreed to an exclusive deal to sell Lucant products to the lubricant industry worldwide. Mitsui markets the product for plastics and resins applications. According to Lubrizol’s website, Lucant products lower the viscosity of lubricants formulated with API Group II and Group III base oils to meet performance standards of synthetic formulations. The hydrocarbon-based synthetic fluid is soluble in Group I, II, III and IV base stocks, providing low-temperature fluidity.
