The firms identified 15 different potential reservoir sands—at depths ranging 1,800-5,500 ft—with a potential net pay of 400 ft. Preliminary logging information indicated hydrocarbons in the upper, middle, and lower zones. The complete testing program is still under way. To date, GeoPark has carried out production tests in four reservoir sands, with early results showing a production rate by natural flow of 300 b/d of 28° gravity oil with a 7% water cut. GeoPark says more testing and production history will be needed to determine the well’s stabilized flow rates.
