Both projects “are on track”, says Statoil’s VP of Media Relations Bard Glad Pedersen. The firm estimates Johan Sverdrup holds 2 to 3 billion barrels of oil equivalent. It expects to start production from phase 1 in late 2019 and has put the breakeven price for the first phase at below $20 per boe.
