US Oil Output Hits 22-Month High
US oil production hits a 22-month high, but its pace of increases is slowing down, according to weekly EIA report. US output has risen almost every single week for the past four months, and this week inched up again, to 9.4M bpd, its highest since August 2015. According to these weekly numbers, production increased by 429k bpd during the first three months of this year, while only adding 151k of output during the past nearly three months. Some analysts say output is likely to re-accelerate in 2H to reach as high as 10M bpd, but the current pace would put it closer to 9.7M or 9.8M at year’s end.
