Saudi Efforts to Boost Oil Prices Minimal, Says Petromatrix
Exports of crude oil from Saudi Arabia are still in the comfort zone of recent years, Petromatrix says in a note. Official data shows Saudi crude oil exports in April at 7 million barrels a day, which is a reduction of 226,000 barrels per day versus March and about 438,000 lower than a year ago. They are however slightly higher than in February. Compared to history, Saudi Arabia is only doing minimal service to support prices, relying instead on cooperation from non-OPEC countries and as a result oil prices are lower than they were a year ago. Saudi Arabia is far from doing “whatever it takes” to balance the market, it adds.
