The Wall Street Journal reported last month that Exxon was exploring ways to acquire a stake in Brazil’s offshore oil resources. Possible alternatives included partnering with Petrobras and participating in bidding rounds scheduled for later this year. “Petrobras emphasizes, however, that it is in constant touch with companies in the oil and gas sector to evaluate opportunities and share experience.”
