Libya Oil Production Uptick Could Derail OPEC Cuts
Libya oil production could rise to 1.2 million b/d by the end of 2017, according to Gillian Carr from global pricing agency S&P Platts. Speaking as part of a panel discussion at the Platts Oil & Energy Forum in London, the editor of EMEA crude said that to get production to that level would mean a lot of obstacles regarding infrastructure would have to be overcome, but even an uptick of 200,000-300,000 barrels a day from current production of about 600,000 b/d could have a huge impact on global supply balances.
